Project Overview:

Envisioning Justice is an initiative by Illinois Humanities aimed at transforming the criminal legal system through art, education, and community engagement. The website functions as a digital hub for stories, resources, and event-driven activism. With a strong emphasis on visual storytelling and accessibility, it supports artists, educators, and advocates across Illinois.

Key Features:

Responsive Design – Fully mobile-optimized layout with smooth transitions across devices.
Storytelling Through Design – Engaging visuals, video embeds, and artist features.
Event & Resource Hubs – Sections dedicated to programs, toolkits, and local engagement opportunities.
Inclusive & Accessible UI – Built with WCAG standards in mind for accessibility and clarity.
WordPress CMS – Flexible backend for ongoing content updates and multi-author contributions.
Performance Optimization – Balanced performance despite content-heavy sections and media.

My Role in the Project:

I worked on the frontend development of the Envisioning Justice website, helping bring the design vision to life through responsive layouts and thoughtful user experience features. I collaborated with the content and design teams to ensure accessibility and ease of navigation. I also optimized media elements to ensure fast loading times while maintaining visual impact — especially important for a site so rich in storytelling and visuals.
